Tributes Continue for the Reiners as Medical Examiner's Findings Face a Security Hold.

Over a fortnight after the tragic deaths of esteemed film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the couple.

Quoting a Classic: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, stated he only now felt ready to express about his profound loss.

"Sufficient time has gone by that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, saying that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor uploaded behind-the-scenes footage from the production, adding that he doesn't recollect "any day without joy".

"This story is about affection, allegiance and giving. Principles that Rob valued immensely. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He also paid tribute Michele Reiner, stating: "To say that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He finished with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Remembers a Fellow Artist

In a different essay, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"Immediately, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.

Scorsese highlighted Reiner's acting part in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the lead role.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a master at comedy, he worked wonderfully with the cast, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese added.

Legal Developments: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles superior court judge decided to block the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, following a petition from the local authorities.

A legal directive put a security hold on the investigation to prohibit the public release of "related notes, documents, files or images" associated with the ongoing investigation.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of murder, with a record noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Response and Criticism

After the tragedy, public individuals offered varying responses.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing divisive remarks that were broadly criticized by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan added his criticism to the critics recently. Talking on his show, Rogan described the remarks as "shocking" and suggested they demonstrated a worrisome deficiency of sympathy.

Rogan ended by remarking that an associate should have intervened when the impulse to comment on the passing was made.
