The 36-year-old was involved in a car accident outside Lagos on Monday, a tragic incident that took the lives of two of his valued colleagues. Under Observation for Minor Injuries Joshua had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. The Lagos state commissioner for information, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was judged healthy enough to continue his recovery at home. “The boxer and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being made ready for the journey back,” the official remarked. Remembering the Victims The two men who died were identified as Latif Ayodele, Joshua's trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. The official further stated that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and overcome with emotion over the loss of his two dear friends.” The news of his discharge comes as the sports world had expressed its support for the champion in the following the terrible crash.
